Master Shift Series: 5 – Daily Stillness – The Most Underrated Discipline

Why a Few Minutes of Quiet Resets Your Entire System

We have it all within us. All our potential, rich resources and system, everything lies inside of us. It’s just we do not allow them to surface or take hold of our lives. With our mental barricades, emotional residues, patterns of fear, greed, detachment and so on. We obsolete and obstruct our inner reservoirs. Sometimes we dim it, sometimes we block it. They patiently wait for us to recognise, remember and let it flow freely.

How do we give it a chance? When we are still. When we are at peace. When we do not intervene. Stillness is not a practice, neither is inactivity. Stillness is our natural balanced and steady state. A state which is not carried away in emotions. State which doesn’t get disturbed by mindset. A state which can remain unruffled whatever the situations or conditions around.

In this state of lack of conflicts, we are still. Whether in daily chores, passing a tough phase of life, living discharming events, on adventurous ridges or while doing nothing, we can tap our stillness. Stillness is a choice because it is our natural state. We just need to allow it.

In a fast paced world, stillness is misunderstood as withdrawal or passivity. Stillness has become a synonym of doing nothing or being idle. But stillness is the most functional discipline. Because it opens the field of intelligence, an undiluted space of clarity, truth and light. Intelligence is a space of emergence which we obstruct or block with our perceptions and belief patterns.

We live in a world that processes information, trusts logic, reacts to stimuli and hence our inner system is constantly busy planning what, when and how. Information, logic and reactions keep you afloat on the surface. It doesn’t give you the space to go deeper and bigger. Absence of inner conflicts settles dust particles within and lets you see the picture clearly. Stillness enriches your authenticity. This authenticity you carry in your world and the world begins to know you, for who you are more than what you do.

In our Adhyaant’s Arc, awakening and maturity comes before mastery and your becoming, if you are a seeker, a potential enthusiast, or looking for meaning or fulfillment. Stillness is the field that opens. What you just need is 5/10 minutes of your time more than once in a day when you quietly choose to remain calm and attend no destruction whatsoever. When you choose to be at peace whatever your situation may be. The more you allow stillness, the more intelligence (and by the way intelligence is not smartness) will guide you. You will notice the rise within yourself which will eventually reflect on your outside world.
